PM's statement on Afghanistan and Pakistan, 14 October 2009
In a statement about the future priorities for Afghanistan to the Commons, the Prime Minister outlined the UK's work with Pakistan to counter the terrorist threat from al Qaeda and the Taliban.
NATO Defence Ministers gather in Bratislava
The UK Defence Secretary, Bob Ainsworth, met NATO and ISAF counterparts in Bratislava on 22-23 October. They discussed a broad range of defence-related issues on NATO's agenda, including Afghanistan.
UK Ambassador to NATO receives Knighthood
Ambassador Stewart Eldon was awarded a KCMG in this year's Queen Birthday Honours and visited Buckingham Palace for his investiture on 30 October 2009.
